The Best Exercise Routines For Women

Exercise routines for women need not be that much different than those routines the men use to achieve body health and fitness. Only when you are pregnant does the exercise routine have to differ from those that the men carry out. One of the keys to a good workout routine is changing from one workout to another and creating variation in your overall workout.
The starting point in choosing the best exercise routines for women is determining what your goals are. You will have to consider whether you want to focus on muscle building, weight loss or you just want to achieve better fitness and health. As most women tend to focus on weight loss and men on muscle development, there will always be differences in finding the best exercise routines for women.
Strength / Weight Training.
Many women tend to avoid strength training, thinking that it will give them a more masculine muscle look. This is certainly not always the case. By using the best exercise routines for women you can get a body without bulk that is nicely toned. Not only will you retain your shapely female form, you will also build lean muscle and burn off those extra calories that have been hard to shift.
Cardio Training
A high number of women will stick to a cardio workout routine and some are successful with their weight loss. When combined with a good strength training workout, cardio can play a big part in your body fitness Regular cardio workouts will help to keep your heart healthy and increase your metabolism. Cardio routines can be practiced almost anywhere, in your home and at work, without expensive gym equipment. When choosing the best exercise routine you should focus on one that will ensure you reach all your goals, while giving you enjoyment and most importantly be fun. A lot of people try to get fit but often fail and do not reach their goals due to poor instruction and direction from the trainer.
The P90X2 program, the sequel to the popular P90X, will drastically change your view to exercise routines. The P90X2 program concentrates on all aspects of fitness training, including cardio, weight training and diet and nutrition. For these reasons alone you should have a good look at P90X2 if you are seriously looking for one of the best exercise routines for women and men combined. The core principle of the P90X2 program is consistently exercising. If you are exercising on a consistent level, you will see better muscle building and you will burn calories and fat at a faster rate.
P90X2 is different from many other exercise programs for women on the market today due to the unique technique of "muscle confusion". Muscle confusion tricks the muscles and stops them adapting to regular routines by varying the workouts. This eliminates one of the biggest fitness obstacles, the plateau. The muscle confusion theory combined with a multitude of various exercise routines provides a diverse and entertaining exercise routine for all types of people. Exercise routines consist of weight and strength training, yoga, cardio and many other workouts that are easy to follow and fun to do. The P90X2 program also helps those persons with specific targets to arrive at their goal. The program can be tweaked and twisted to help people, whatever their fitness level.
If you are serious about transforming your body and adopting a healthier, fitter lifestyle then consider the P90X2 program today. There is loads more great information on the P90X2 program and the P90X program at the No 1 website for P90X2 http://www.p90x2program.com

The Best Shoulder Exercises For Women

Many women want the perfect toned "feminine ripped" body, but often you might be at a loss for what you need to do. That's where I come in. I want to help women like you and me to get the best body possible in the safest, most efficient ways.
It is clear that to get the body you have to workout all of your major muscle groups. Legs, arms, abs, etc need to be incorporated into every workout!
But do you know how to workout your shoulders? My shoulders are my favorite body part and they could be yours too. Just think about it, when you have great shoulders you look amazing in just about any top, dress or bathing suit. You feel sexier, more confident and if you have great shoulders, you're probably going to have great arms, great back and a great core!
Below are some great women's workout shoulder tips that I recommend to my clients AND that I follow myself...
* I recommend adding 2-3 shoulder and upper back exercises to your routine 3 times per week. Every workout you do should be a total body workout... this maximizes fat burning and the overall workout benefits.
* So on top of your squats, lunges, curls, etc. choose 2-3 of the shoulder exercises below to really give your body a grade of A.
* Each exercise should be performed for 1-2 sets to temporary muscle failure (for intermediate and advanced lifters); for new women in the weight room go for 2-3 sets, not quite reaching failure.
* This failure is what motivates the recovery period to build and tone more shoulder muscle.
* I generally recommend sets that include 10-12 reps so make sure to use a heavy enough weight that you can be exhausted by the end.
Keep movements slow and under control. It should take about 3 seconds to contract and 3 seconds to return to start, with a 2 second pause at the fully contracted stage. One rep should take about 8 seconds!
Without more delay here are the best shoulder exercises for women:
1. Push ups: not only good for the shoulders but you will get a great workout in the chest and latissimus dorsi (the biggest muscle in the back). Make it harder by trying one-legged pushups.
2. Lateral raises: holding a weight in each hand, stand with legs should width apart and arms down by your side. Slowly rise that arms straight out as if you were making a "snow angel".
3. Pull-ups: I suggest holding the bar with an underhand grip. This will target the shoulders and back. Start with using a pull-up bar assistance machine if needed. Once you progress to doing them on your own try placing weights on your feet!
4. Forward raise: a lot like the lateral raise but instead of raise the arms out to the sides, raise them directly to the front. Make sure to keep arms straight.
5. Shoulder shrugs: Holding weights down by your sides, shrug your shoulders slowly as high as manageable. Work on bringing them up to the ears.
6. Incline bench press: you will probably need to use less weight than if performing the standard bench press. This position targets more of shoulder action than laying down.
So there you have it, six great exercises to give you the best shoulders around. Remember you do not need to perform all 6 of these but choose your top 3 to do during your workout.
Never work the same muscles 2 days back to back. Take a rest day in between to get the best results.

Best Ab Workout For Women

Many women long for a sleek slender abdomen. Today we are going to take a look at the best ab workout for women. Nutrition does play a part in the role of muscle strengthening and toning. You don't need to go overboard. But do try and cut down on the amount of processed foods you eat. You know the drill, lean meats, vegetables and fruits. Not a glamorous eating plan but none the less it works!
I have chose the stability ball as the most efficient, effective and safest way to tone your abs. Here are three reasons to support my choice.
Results Are Quicker Than Most Gym Equipment
The ball is going to give you quicker results overall. This is because you need to put some effort into re balancing yourself on the ball. Do it or fall off. Constant re-adjusting works your abs even harder. Most people don't even realize, but you end up working twice as hard with the least amount of effort.
Cost Effective and Easy To Store
You can pick up stability balls for less than $10 these days. Thanks to importing they are a dime a dozen. Once you have finished your workout, let the ball down and put it in a draw. There is no need to allocate a complete room in the house to a ball! It is easily portable which means you can take it away with you. No expensive gym memberships required.
Support For Your Back
This gives you the best support for your back. Standard ab crunches on the floor offer no support what so ever. If anything the ball can alleviate back pain. Increase muscle strengthening and flexibility. All in all a good buy, pick one up today.

The Ideal Fit Woman - The Best Workout For Women With One Exercise!

The best workout plans for women must include the implementation of kettlebell training, but more specifically kettlebell thrusters! Ladies, by now you might have seen this ancient device that is known as the kettlebell and wonder what kind of exercises you can execute with such a device. The fact is that you should be asking the question, what can you not do with it? This style of training is one of the most versatile types of training that you could ever stand to do and the kettlebell thruster is one of the most well rounded kettlebell lifts that is sure to give you a tremendous workout.
Kettlebell Thrusters
Ladies the best workout routine for you must involve exercises that will raise your level of perceived exertion. In other words, whenever you engage in a lift or specific exercise that exercise should be challenging enough for you so that you elevate your heart rate and break a sweat in a relatively short period of time. This will allow you to obtain far more reaching results than just taking your time in a less intense exercise that has more subtle effects on your activity level. Kettlebell thrusters are tremendous for helping you to do just that.
You see when you train with kettlebells you are more than likely engaging in whole body movements to some degree. The kettlebell thruster is an exercise that combines both a squatting movement and an overhead press so that you are getting the benefits of resistance by exerting yourself through a total body effort along with getting a tremendous amount of cardiovascular training as well. To execute the thruster you will need the availability of either a single bell or pair of kettlebells of moderate resistance.
Set the bell(s) on the ground between your feet with your stance slightly wider than shoulder width. From here simply clean and rack the bell(s) to your chest and perform a front squat while maintaining the balance and position of the bell(s) in front of you. As you squat try to go deep enough so that your elbow(s) touch the insides of your knees. This is how you will know that your range of motion is sufficient. As you ascend up out of the squat then simply press and lock the bell(s) out overhead. Once you press the kettlebell(s) then simply return it (or them) back to the racked position to go right into the next squat to start the process over again.
This is one hard hitting strength training routine for ALL women to perform and you will be glad you did. Take the time to learn more about thrusters and other great kettlebell lifts by accessing the rest of my articles on the matter for free. Remember ladies that most anyone can train hard, but only the best train smart!

The First Two Steps Towards Fitness for Men and Women

This article isn't going to be a step by step plan of what to eat and how to exercise to look and feel better. It'll simply place you on the path where you can achieve such things. I do think I need to justify why a 48 year old guy who is part owner of an office supply store is giving fitness advice in the first place. Besides the fact that I look the part, I've spent over thirty years and many dollars on videos, books and trainers to achieve goals that include gaining weight and strength for college football to losing fat for natural body building competitions. I haven't spent the money on the certifications that prove my knowledge and allow me to add letters after my name, but that doesn't seem to stop people from asking me for help and advice.
This first step to fitness is for you to update your definition of exercise to include weight training with barbells. The four lifts that will best allow you to gain the general strength that you will use in your daily life and for your fitness goals are back squats, bench presses, overhead presses and deadlifts.
Barbell training is the same answer for all of us regardless of age or gender. Because our genders' differences are mostly hormonal and not at the genetic level; it makes sense that the exercises that cause the fastest and greatest strength gains in men will cause the same in women too. The only requirement is having sufficient strength to begin performing the lifts with an empty barbell. A better explanation as to why we all need to train with barbells, as well as the best descriptions of safely performing the four exercises can be found in Mark Rippetoe's book and video with the words "Starting Strength" in the title.
If you already do exercise please keep doing all those things that you like, but allow about 45 minutes three times a week to do Rippetoe's suggested workout. If you aren't in sufficient shape to lift weights, you'll need to do other things that'll get you to that point.
Besides that physical limitation to training with weights, there're other psychological barriers as well especially for women. Women, in general, don't want to be bulky or even muscular for that matter and many are afraid that weight training will cause that to happen. But it won't happen unless you really want it to and try very hard.
Besides the misguided expectations of our society in regards to what physically defines an ideal man and woman, other psychological barriers will be provided by the admonishments of your doctor, your family and your friends. You'll need to find a way to overcome them, even after the time when you realize that each set of squats is increasing your resistance to those things that want to kill you or simply make you old. I too have had to deal with some of those barriers. I've learned to simplify my analysis of the warnings and unsolicited counseling by carefully weighing what that person is advising; against what they look like and their general heath. And you should too.
The second step to fitness is to consciously add protein to your diet. You'll need to break your eating into breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and a final snack. You may somewhat eat like this now, but you probably skip breakfast and your last snack is probably more of a meal because you're so hungry from the other missed or protein-deficient snacks and meals. So don't skip breakfast and start each meal with a deck of card sized piece of baked or boiled meat along with a glass of water. And then eat your normal foods. That's my first bit of diet advice for you. When you can't conveniently or just don't want to eat meat, start the meal with a scoop of vanilla protein powder that you'll mix with 16 ounces of a flavored zero calorie beverage like PowerAde. Choose Whey Protein Isolate as your protein powder and you won't be the cause of any more offensive odors than you already are now.
So, that's it. The first two steps to fitness are to lift weights, and add protein to each meal.
You can reach Mark by emailing him at mark@bulldogop.com. Mark is part owner of Bulldog Office Products, a regular working guy who knows what works for him and others like him but is not a personal trainer. Starting Strength books and videos can be found at http://www.startingstrength.com/index.php/site/products. I'm not affiliated with the company in anyway besides really liking their products.

The Best Workout Plans For Women

Womens and mens bodies are not the same and when it comes to working out and fat loss, things are also a little different. Specifically workout plans for women should be different than a mans. In general, men carry more muscle than women and women have a bit more fat. These are things that need to be taken in to account when designing your workout, regardless of your goals.
In reality we are all human and what works for men will also work for women, to a point. The main thing is that women and mens workout goals are generally different and they are usually looking for different results. Women sometimes have a distorted view of themselves and thanks to the media, try to lose fat and attain an unrealistic look for their body. This is a shame and there are countless women who worry everyday about what they look like and how they can improve their bodies. Men are no different and will do close to anything, including taking illegal and dangerous drugs, to get massive arms and a huge chest.
I am all for getting in to great shape and improving ourselves, I just think we all need to know that having a great looking body doesn't always mean that we a have a healthy body. I think that people incorrectly use the words heath and fitness in the same context. Being in shape with a very low bodyfat level does necessarily mean that you are healthy. Theoretically you could eat nothing for weeks and drink can after can of diet soft drinks and lose tons of weight. Is this healthy though? Of course not. There is a balance that you should strive for that includes eating healthy and exercising, but not going to the extreme with either.
Ok, back to the workout plan.
The best workout plans for women all have these two things included in them:
1) Resistance Training
2) Interval Cardio
For best results you should train three times a week for about an hour and limit your calories enough to cause a caloric deficit.
Resistance Training
Resistance training can be done in a gym or at home. If you do not wish to go to a gym or would rather not exercise around some of the steroid popping gym rats, then just workout at home. There is a common stereo type for gyms that everyone there is in great shape and slams weights around all day grunting and screaming. If you have never been to a gym, I think that you will be very surprised to see that most people there are just normal people trying to get in shape. There are few people at most of the gyms that I have lifted in that actually look like they are in great shape or could pose in a fitness magazine. So don't be intimidated and try one out, I think you will like it once you start to make a few new friends.
Resistance training can involve light dumbells, stability balls, resistance bands, or what I feel may be the best type, bodyweight exercises. Bodyweight exercises are great and do not require any extra equipment. In fact, if you do train at home, you will need very little if you are going to concentrate on bodyweight exercises. If you are thinking that you can't get in to great shape with just bodyweight exercises, I think you will change your mind if you really give them a try. I have seen some brutal workouts done by some of the most elite special forces such as U.S. Navy Seals, that only involve bodyweight exercises and are done in the middle of the woods! Believe me, this type of training can be as intense as you want it to be.
The more lean muscle mass that you have, the more calories you will burn. This is one of the reasons that men can sometimes lose fat a little easier than women. Not always, but if you have a muscular man and an overweight woman both go on a diet, and all things being the same according to their size, such as calories and amount of exercise, the man with the muscle is going to lose more fat than the woman. This is one of the reasons that resistance training will help you to lose fat if you do it right. You need to have a progressive overload or progressive resistance each time you train. Do not go in to the gym and do the same weights and reps that you did the last workout. You need some kind of progress, whether it is another rep, more weight, or even a shorter rest period. If you do this, your body will grow stronger so it can handle the workload. This will increase your muscle mass, which will require more energy to maintain the new muscle that was built. This increases your metabolism and you burn more fat and calories all day long! The other part of this equation is interval cardio.
Interval Cardio
Interval cardio is going to be a little different than what most do and is going to be a lot more effective. It also is not going to take as long so you can get in and out and back to your life. In fact, you are only going to do interval training for around 15 minutes or less.
Here is an example of what interval training on a stationary bike will look like. You can do this type of training on a treadmill or any other type of cardio machine, it is just a little easier to adjust the speeds up and down on a bike. I am going to use a scale of 1-10 with one being very low intensity and ten being that you are pedaling as fast as possible.
-Warm up at a slow pace for around 2 or 3 minutes at about a 3 or so.
-Speed up to a 6 for 30 secs
-Go back down to around a 4 for 1 minute
-Speed up to around a 9 for 30 secs
-Go back down to 4 for 1 minute
-Speed back up to 9 for 30 secs
-Keep alternating between the two until you reach around 12 or 13 minutes
-Go down to 4 and slowly decrease the speed down to a 3 or less over the last 2 minutes as a cool down.
If you workout three times a week, you should be able to do the entire workout in around 45 minutes to an hour. 30 minutes for the resistance and 15 minutes for the cardio. As to what types of resistance training to do, there are many different types of exercises and many different workouts. If you are new or are seeing little results with your training, I would start out with bodyweight exercises. Of course there are many different schools of thought on workout plans for women, but in my opinion if you follow along with this, you will see incredible results.
No matter what body style or how much weight that you need to lose, weight loss all comes down to three simple steps. The fitness and dieting industry try to make it more difficult that it really is so they can sell you the diet of the week or the newest magic pill that never works!

The Best Fat Burning Workout For Women

Are you in search of the best fat burning workout for women? If so, then you will probably be disappointed at knowing that there is no such thing as "best" although there are some workouts that are better than others. Some of the most popular workouts are super-sets, circuits, intervals, and even body weight workouts. The great thing about these four types of workouts is that they are all focused on people who want to get a quality workout in a short amount of time. If you are a busy mom then some of these workouts can even be done at home. Whatever your circumstance may be there is a workout for every woman.
Body Weight Workouts
Some people would argue that using your body-weight is the best fat burning workout for women. This is a big claim to make but using your own body weight for resistance does have its advantages. A good thing about using your body-weight is that you will never need a single iron weight because your body provides all the resistance. So whether you are a mom at home or a business woman at a hotel room you can do these workouts wherever you are at. Some would even argue that using your own weight is a lot harder than using free weights. Whether this is true or not the only important thing is that you can always do a workout without a gym.
Interval Training Workouts
Interval training is also great because it is an amazing fat burning workout for women. Intervals can be done at home if you have a treadmill. If you are at a hotel room then you are also in luck because 99 percent of hotel rooms now have treadmills. The awesome thing about doing intervals is that they only take about 20 minutes to complete. In those 20 minutes you will shed more belly fat than with any other cardio program.
As you can see, there are plenty of good workouts for women. Some other ones to consider are super-set training and circuit training. These workouts are good because they help you build muscle and you build cardiovascular endurance at the same time.
Did you know that you can get in shape with just 3 workouts a week? Read our Turbulence Training Review at our Womens Fitness Blog [http://www.fitnessworkoutsforwomen.com/] to find out how. For more information visit, [http://www.fitnessworkoutsforwomen.com/].

Body Sculpting Exercises For Women - 3 Top Exercises to Sculpt a Gorgeous Feminine Body

Women who are looking to get fit, toned and beach ready often make the mistake of thinking that dieting alone will get them the kind of body that turns guys' heads.
They will often shy away from certain body sculpting exercises, particularly those involving weights, thinking that they will only make them look muscular and bulky like those grossly deformed female bodybuilders.
However, this is not true. Most women just don't have the genetics to get that masculine looking.
Working out regularly and performing body sculpting exercises for women will serve to strengthen and tone your muscles, reduce excess body fat and just bring out and accentuate your natural feminine curves.
Below I'm going to show you 3 top body sculpting exercises for women that you should include in your next workout. Each one is designed to target a specific problem area of a lady's body - butt, boobs and abs.
3 Body Sculpting Exercises For Women
Butt - Walking Lunges
If you're looking to sculpt a gorgeous set of pins and a cute butt then walking lunges are what you are need.
These target the glutes (butt), hamstrings and quads (back and front thighs). The large range of movement in the exercise means that you increase your heart rate and burn off more body fat.
When you get proficient at this one, try holding a light dumbbell in each hand while you perform the exercise to give your muscles an extra workout.
Boobs - Chest Flys
This body sculpting exercise for women is super at boosting your cleavage. Use a couple of dumbbells and perform it either lying flat on a weights bench or slightly inclined (an inclined bench will work your upper chest muscles more).
When performing this body sculpting exercise it's important to focus your effort throughout the exercise on your chest muscles in order to feel the full benefit - I say this because some girls bend there arms or take the strain through their shoulders and so don't feel the full effect of the exercise.
Abs - Exercise Ball Crunches
Forget ab rollers ( I personally don't think they are that effective anyway) and get yourself on an exercise ball.
These stability balls are great for getting a full range of motion on your abdominal muscles and helping to sculpt a sexy toned midsection.
Get someone to hold your ankles while you perform this body sculpting exercise and lower your upper body all the way down as far as you can go. Then crunch back upwards until you're almost in a sitting position...this is one rep.
You may find it tough going at first, so you may not be able to lower yourself upper body so far, but stick with it and try to get the full range of motion to make the most of this body sculpting exercise.

There are a variety of crunch positions that will work but here are three of the best ab exercises for women who want to get great results.
Exercise ball crunches - This is a good one if you are just starting to exercise.
- Step 1 - Sit on the ball and place your hands on the back of your head and walk your legs out lowering your body on to the ball until your upper back and shoulders are all that remain on top of the ball. Legs should be shoulder width apart.
- Step 2 - Lift your pelvic to straighten your lower back and tighten your buttocks and contract the abdomen muscles.
- Steps 3 - Keeping your elbows pointing out to the side slowly raise the shoulders slightly being careful not to pull the neck. You should feel the crunch in the abdominals; the thighs and buttock muscles will be working too.
- Step 4 - Hold the position for a moment then slowly lower the shoulders to the ball and repeat for as many times as you can perform the exercise without straining.
Rest for 30 seconds or less between sets. Do 2 or 3 sets of 12 to 15 repetitions every other day.
Floor bicycle movement - This exercise does not require any equipment.
- Step 1 - Lie on your back with your hands behind your head and legs straight out.
- Step 2 - Contract your abdomen muscles and lift one leg bending your knee while raising your shoulders slightly off the floor without pulling your neck.
- Step 3 - Bring your elbow and knee together bending so that the elbow and knee just touch.
- Step 4 - Lower and then change sides so the alternate legs in a bicycle movement touching knee to elbow. Repeat.
Move through the positions slowly. You can vary this ab exercise by bringing the knee and elbow of the opposite sides together requiring the upper body to turn slightly from side to side. This maneuver is very effective and works the oblique as well as both the upper and lower abdominals.
Hanging Knee Raises - This is a most effective exercise but needs gym equipment (Captain's Chair. )
- Step 1 - The body is held upright by the arms resting on padded arm bars with the feet handing down. The lower back is straight and supported by a back rest.
- Step 2 - Contract the abdominal muscles and lift both knees slowly up toward the chest,
- Step 3 - Pause and then slowly lower the legs back down to the starting position. The muscles are constantly contracted throughout the exercise.
This abdominal workout is the most effective because it works both the upper and lower abs, back and arm muscles for an overall core strengthening exercise.
The Best Results
It's not enough to just focus on doing abdominal exercise. For women especially, - you can have rock hard abdominal muscles, but if there is body fat covering them you won't be able to see them. To make these exercises not only pay off but really show off you need to consider the following;
- Eating a well balanced diet low in saturated fats
- Doing a cardio or Aerobic warm-up before a workout
- Stretching both before and after exercise for increased flexibility
- Making regular exercise part of your lifestyle
Diet Is Important
Pay attention to what you eat and when you eat. It is as important as exercising if you want to lose weight or maintain an ideal body weight. If you want results you have to do the things that are needed to get the results. It is as simple as that. Once you get started in any exercise program it will become second nature and a part of your everyday routine. So suck in that stomach and get the beautiful abs you always wanted.

Best Toning Exercises For Women

If you are looking to lose some unwanted body fat (ok, lose all unwanted body fat); if you want to tighten and tone your body or if you just want to know some great exercises then these are for you.
My best toning exercises for women aren't fad exercises or impossible moves. All of them can all be done, no matter your strength training experience.
What is important to know before getting started?
You do actually have to do these exercises. If you're tired of running on a treadmill and not getting results or if you have dabbled in strength training then obviously you need to change your workout.
Strength training with real weights is the way to go. Who ever says that women should lift heavy is a bunch of bull... did you know that for every pound of muscle you have your body burns an extra 50 calories (on average) per day? Without dieting or changing your food! That's awesome.
Also grabbing weights will decrease your risk of cancer, decrease risk of osteoporosis, improve mental health, improve joints, decrease back pain, improve posture... the list goes on and on.
Are you like most women? Scared of strength training because of the idea of bulking like a man?
Well stop. We have 10-30 times less muscle building hormones than men, so you won't get huge. Instead you will have great, sexy definition, a body you're proud to show off. AND you'll fit into your clothes better.
The Best Toning Exercises For Women
These are all compound movements, that's a trainer's way of saying all of these exercises work big muscles and little muscles, they work multiple joints AND they burn a ton of calories. Add a view of these to your women's workout to get results... fast.
1. Squat: stand with feet shoulder width apart, knees facing straight forward, hands on waist or holding dumbbells by your side. Make sure to have your weight on the heels and slowly lower down bending your knees until you are "sitting in a chair" with thighs parallel to the floor.
Great squat variations: Sumo squat, Bulgarian Squat, one-legged squat, barbell squat, squat jumps.
2. Push-ups: The classic push-up is a great move... it works the arms, shoulders, back, chest and abs. What more could you ask for? Have hands slightly wider than shoulder width apart, push up so your body is completely straight with no arch in your back and make sure your butt isn't sticking up in the air. Slowly bend at the elbows and lower until your nose is in between your hands and almost to the ground, return to start.
Push-up variations: Incline push-ups (beginners), decline push-ups, stability ball push-ups, pike push-ups and push-up hold.
3. Lunge: This is a huge exercise and can be changed up to fit any goal. The standard lunge is done with hands on head or hips, take a step forward with one leg and keep the front knee over ankle. Lower down until the back knee is almost to the ground, but not completely. Push off front foot back to original stance.
Lunge variations: Reverse lunge, side lunges, lunge jumps, step-up lunge
Adding these exercises to your workout is a great way to start implementing a great toning workout. For the best results, I suggest doing them 3 times per week for 3 sets of 13-15 reps.

6 Pack Abs Workout For Women

Women of course have different workout needs than men do. However, the end result is the same, you want a body that looks great and feels great, and you want to be able to impress with it. For women, getting a six pack is more about having a flat stomach than it is about having bulging abdominal muscles. Therefore it's important to design your workout to meet those specific needs.

The first thing you'll have to remember is that you need to drop crunches and sit-ups from your routine. These exercises do not fully stimulate your entire midsection and instead only work out a small portion of your core muscles. Therefore you can make better use of your time and achieve more results with a new routine.

It's also important to remember that you should not overwork your abdominals. People have a tendency to try to train their abs every single day, however this isn't an effective strategy for long-term results. Your abs, just like all muscle groups, need sufficient time to rest and recover. Therefore the best abs workout should be performed once or twice weekly.

Knowing that you should be avoiding crunches, what kinds of exercises should you fit into your workout? For starters, focus on bodyweight exercises that offer a full extension and range of motion. For example, leg lifts with your back flat on the floor, combined in one routine with back extensions and side planks will target all sides of your core and will tone you up in no time at all.

If you follow the above tips and strategies, you'll be on your way to six pack abs in no time at all. Women, you can finally achieve that perfectly flat and solid midsection with this plan for success.

Best Abdominal Workout For Women - Exercises For Women to Reduce Stomach Fat

Women are, home-makers, doctors, managers, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, sports persons, actors, politicians.... they have made a place for themselves in every sphere. With more exposure, there is more awareness and more competition. Nevertheless, a combination of beauty and brains is what makes the ideal woman. Unfortunately, many women tend to neglect themselves after they get married and have children. They spend little or no time on maintaining themselves and land up gaining a lot of weight. Suddenly, as realization dawns, they look for ways to shed the unwarranted weight, especially the large piles of flab that accumulate on and around the abdomen.

The following exercises help in reducing stomach fat:

Hula Hoop Exercise: Hula Hoop is the ring shaped plastic hoop that is twirled around the stomach, limbs and neck. Twirling the hoop around the stomach, helps in toning the muscles and shedding the flab; do this for 5 to 15 minutes a day.

Belly Suction: Suck in your belly button and hold it for as long as you can. Start by holding it for 15 seconds and then gradually increase up to 1 minute.

Walking and/or Running: These help in burning calories and reducing the belly size.

Sit-Ups: Doing sit-ups help in reducing the tummy but one needs to do at least 500 sit-ups every day to achieve quick results.

Drawing-in the belly: Like belly suction, this exercise is done by lying flat on the back, bending the knees, and keeping the feet flat. Then gradually the belly is drawn in to touch the spine and held for 10 seconds. The exercise should be repeated ten times every day for best results. This exercise also strengthens the spine.

Exercises are one part of the process to get a flat stomach. These should be accompanied by a disciplined diet regime. Dieting does not mean starving. It simply means eating the right kinds of foods, in the right quantities at the right time. A combination of physical exercises and a healthy diet will give you a perfect figure and a flat abdomen.

Best Abs Workout For Women - Are You Doing This?

In this article, I am going to teach you one of the best abs workout for women that will tone and firm your belly much quicker than most other exercises.

Belly fat is unattractive and is good reason to wear loose fitting clothing. After all, who would want to show off unsightly belly fat?

Women often build up more fat in this area of the body than men and it can sometimes seem like a hopeless battle to get rid of it. You might know what I'm talking about if you have ever tried dieting or exercise to get rid of it.

However, there is an exercise that can sometimes knock out the belly fat fairly quick. The exercise I'm referring to is called the bicycle exercise. And no, you will not have to go out and buy a bicycle in order to do it.

If you are not familiar with this, it basically involves you on your back doing a bicycle motion with your legs while you alternate your arms.

It sounds rather difficult, but once you get the rhythm, you will be able to do it on a daily basis. And the exercise not only works out your abdominal, but also your legs and thighs.

You now have an abs workout for women that will not only tone your abs, but also burn off fat if done regularly. Remember that with every exercise plan, there must be a good diet plan. This means eating lots of leafy green vegetables and drinking lots of water.

Biceps Toning Workout for Women

Most women I know, are typically afraid of doing any type of strength training exercise such as a biceps toning workout, for fear of building up too much muscle. The belief that strength training turn women into blocks of muscles, is a big misconception. In order to build muscles, one needs a healthy dose of testosterone, which is a male hormone. Women do not have much testosterone, and as a result, women do not bulk up as easily as men do. Therefore, if you are a woman, you should not be afraid of losing your female appearance, when you do your biceps toning workout.

If you want to get rid of the fat you build around your upper arms, it is important that you firm up your biceps through proper biceps toning workouts. Biceps workouts should be done, in addition to your regular cardio workouts. The cardio workout will help rid your body of the extra fat, and the biceps toning workout will help give your upper arms a toned look. Also, biceps muscles require extra calories as they grow. As a result, your biceps will be burning fat from your body.

There are several biceps toning workouts you can do. Examples of biceps exercises include concentration curls, hammer curls, barbell curls, high pulley curls, low pulley curls, etc. Most of these biceps exercises require that you either have a set of dumbbells, or that you have access to a gym facility. However, if you have a resistance band, you should be able to work out your biceps effectively.

Biceps Toning Workout for Women

If you have a resistance band and a Swiss ball, try the following biceps toning workout: lie down on the Swiss ball, and make sure your feet are flat on the floor, approximately shoulder-width apart. Roll down slightly on the Swiss ball, such that only your upper back is resting on the ball. Prior to taking this position, lock the resistance band firmly into place. Begin curling the resistance band, while keeping your upper arms relatively parallel to each other. Allow your arms to fully extend at the finishing point of each movement. Maintain a proper breathing pattern throughout the workout. Do this exercise for one full minute. Then take a very short break, and repeat the biceps exercise again 9 more times.

To get the best results out of your biceps workout, you should push yourself to failure. That means, you should keep curling the resistance band until you run out of strength. Take small breaks throughout this strength training exercise routine.

Good luck!

A Workout for Women Who Want to Be Toned

I am constantly amazed at the dearth of quality information on the internet available to women about fitness routines. The vast majority of blogs seem to be targeted at men with most of their content focusing on how get bigger muscles. I've gotten a ton of requests for information that targets women and most of the women I know are not concerned with building large bulky muscles. Most of the women I know want to have a slim, toned, yet feminine look and the truth is that does take a slightly different approach. Below I've developed a basic overview of a weekly workout schedule that women may want to consider in order to achieve that toned yet feminine look.
Strategic Cardio Workouts
Strategic cardio workouts as outlined below will help you achieve three important things:
  1. These are effect fat burning workouts that will get your fat burners turned on
  2. Strategic cardio will help you develop toned and sexy calves and thighs.
  3. Strategic cardio will burn more calories during the week to help you lose weight
Strategic cardio should be done 3 times per week. Start with a slow, steady pace. Jog for 10-15 minutes to get your body warmed up and ready to go hard. Then do 6-8 interval sprints. Interval sprints are intense but brief sprints followed by a slow paced recovery. Sprint as hard as you can for 20 seconds and then walk for 60 seconds. If these are too difficult, then extend your recovery time to 90 seconds. Eventually they will get easier. Interval sprints spike HGH levels in your bloodstream. HGH is the hormone that tells your body to start using fat as an energy source. Once you've released the HGH by doing the interval sprints, jump back on the treadmill for a 20-30 minutes steady cardio jog. The HGH in your bloodstream will ensure that your body uses fat as the primary source of energy for this longer run. Doing workouts like this three times a week will really help get rid of any fat hiding your muscle tone.
Weight Training Workouts
We will use weight training to help firm up and tone your muscles. We will NOT be using weights to build bigger, bulkier muscles. You will want to do weight training 2-3 times per week.
Contrary to popular belief, low weight-high repetition workouts will not give you lean toned muscles. In fact, recent studies have shown that low weight-high repetition training can be just as effective at building muscle as high weight-low repetition training. To really bring out muscle tone you need to focus on strong muscle contractions, but you want to avoid too much fatigue in the muscle. It is the muscle fatigue of high repetition training that tells your muscles to get bigger. To do this, you want to focus on the 3-5 repetition range doing 5 sets for each muscle group. For example, if you want to improve the tone of your biceps then you would do 5 sets of dumbbell curls with repetitions of 5-4-4-3-2. You would want to increase the weight for each set. If you start with 10 lb dumbbells for the first set, then you would finish at 16 or 16 lb dumbbells on the last set. The first two sets should be pretty easy. The last set should take a concerted effort. Give your muscles plenty of time to recover between sets. Remember, you don't want too much muscular fatigue; you simply want your muscle to do strong contractions with heavy weights. Lifting this way will actually harden the muscle by making it more dense. By avoiding fatigue you will avoid bulky muscle growth; this is the most important tip usually missing from workouts for women.
Combined Strategic Cardio and Weight Training
If you are unable to work out more than three times per week then you can combine the weight training and cardio workout. To do so, keep your jogging warm up to 10 minutes. Then complete your weight training routine, but do not do any leg lifts. Then complete 6 interval sprints followed by 10-15 minutes of steady state cardio. This combination will allow you to reap the benefits of burning fat and improving muscle tone in fewer workouts per week.
The best workouts for women are those that teach you how to use cardio to burn fat and how to use weight training to build muscle tone. By using the above tips for establishing an exercise routine women who want to be toned will be well on their way to achieving that slim, sexy, look.
A final word on diet...
No matter how much effort you put into your workout routines, you can never outwork a bad diet. To really see the results of your hard work you need to ensure that you are not consuming more calories than you burn in a week. Check out some of my other articles for more advice on getting control of your diet.

Abs Workout For Women - Four Easy Exercises

Abs workout for women is only a part of a total workout. To really show off your abs you need to look good all over. But, to get those great abs that make your friends jealous here are four easy to do, but tough on abs exercises.
In my opinion, all you really need to get your whole body ripped is a set of dumbbells, a stability ball and your own bodyweight. You do not need a gym load of equipment to build strength and look good.
Today we are going to talk about four exercises and all you need is your own bodyweight. The four exercises are:
1. Stability ball crunches
2. Leg rises
3. Leg scissors
4. Reverse Crunch
Stability Ball Crunches
The stability ball is great, because it supports your back and you use more muscle to keep the ball still. When you first use a stability ball you will wonder where the name comes from, you will feel anything but stable. But, with a little practice you get the hang of it and it is great for the midsection of the body.
To do a crunch on a ball, lay across the ball with the small of your back on the ball. Now you tighten your abs and raise your shoulders, reaching towards your knees with your arms. Only raise your shoulders slightly and lower, keeping the abs tight.
Start with as many reps as you can comfortably do and work up to 20 reps. Then you can add another set of 20 reps. It will take you awhile to work up to that many reps so, don't push it.
Leg Rises
Lay flat on your back on the floor, legs straight. It is best to use a mat to support your body. Place your hands, palms down, under your butt to support your back. Now slowly raise your legs 12 inches off the floor and lower until your feet are about 1 inch off the floor. That is one rep.
These are tough, so just do five or six reps in the beginning. Once you reach 10 to 12 reps, rest for 1 minute and complete another set. This exercise will work on that little tummy bulge below the belt that everyone wants to get lose.
Leg Scissors
Another lower ab and inner thigh exercise is the leg scissors. While in the same starting position as above bring the legs up until the bottom of your feet are towards the ceiling. Next, spread the legs straight to the sides, as far as you can comfortable go, and return to the legs straight towards the ceiling.
That is one rep. Work towards 10 reps and start another set.
Reverse Crunch
The last exercise is the reverse crunch. This is rather tough, but will bring great results.
Begin the exercise with the feet pointing towards the ceiling as in the leg scissors exercise. Lift the butt off the floor, legs still pointing towards the ceiling. Return to the beginning position. This is one rep. Start with 6 reps, if you can, and build to 10. Again, when this becomes easy start another rep.
The above four exercises will provide a great abs workout for women, and guys too.
